Flushr

Coming to iPhone. Android if enough of you ask.

Strava for the other kind of movement.

Rate toilets. Collect thrones. Compare with friends. Flushr is a field guide to the one room you visit every day and have never once kept a record of. It is entirely serious about this.

Three things, in this order

One. It is funny.

You log your runs. You log your pints, your films, your restaurants. You have an annual recap for your music. There is exactly one daily ritual nobody has ever thought to rate, and we have decided that is an oversight.

Two. It is a collection.

Every seat you have never sat on is a seat you have not yet logged. New rooms, rare rooms, city checklists, badges with names your mother would allow: First Flush, Frequent Flyer, Porcelain Pilgrim, Stall of Fame. The most-logged seat at a location is the Throne, and it can be taken from you.

Three. It is, quietly, useful.

There is a map, and the map knows where the good ones are. We mention this once and then go back to the badges.

The house rule

We rate the throne, not the deposit.

Flushr is a review of a room. Cleanliness, privacy, lock integrity, paper quality, ambiance, would return. Tasting notes come from a fixed vocabulary and describe the premises: Notes of pine. Mid-length finish. Seat temperature: ambient. There is nowhere in the app to take or upload a picture, of anything. The optional health field is private, never shared, and never asked about twice.

What it looks like

The log. Under fifteen seconds, nearest seat already chosen.
The map. A survey chart of every seat, visited and not.
The profile. Lifetime stats, unique rooms, cities, badges.
